In August 2022 we completed our largest build to-date. The 45m state of the art tower and secure compound at Heathrow provides coverage for the National Air Traffic Services business, all UK mobile operators (EE, O2, Three and Vodafone) and Transport for London. It also has the capacity to take future tenants, allowing for additional connectivity in the Heathrow and Feltham area.
The project started in 2020 when we were granted planning permission to replace one 15m and two 27.5m towers with a single 45m tower. Construction work started early in 2021 with the decommissioning and removal of the 15m tower and digging out of foundations to make way for the new, smaller compound to enclose the 45m tower, along with all the tenant cabins and cabinet requirements. The tower was installed in April 2021 with the compound completed by June 2021.
There were significant site restrictions with the project, namely its location in a green belt area, the proximity to Heathrow’s southern runway and the security required to work on a site housing National Air Traffic Services equipment.
